Found some of these old Art Walk flyers from the 619 building, including our very first one.  I feel so lucky to have shared space with so many awesome people throughout the years.  And am so appreciative of all the people who came out and joined us for these events.  Lots of memories!

Here's some shots from a fun little shoot I did for La Macon by Shari Noble late summer.  La Macon makes handbags, shoulder bags, wallets and leather accessories.  This was one of the last shoots I did at the 619 building.  Such a great building for interesting backdrops, like the door to the freight elevator, as used in this shoot.

It's a beautiful fall day here.  I have finally embraced fall.  Now that I have, let's look forward to Spring.  Well actually this was shot late summer for Suzabelle's Spring and Summer 2012 lines.  I am really proud of this shoot.  We had some major challenges and I feel like we totally pulled it off.  We had a lot to shoot that day so we had it really well planned out.  We were to shoot at Greenlake starting early in the morning for the light.  Had all the locations picked out.  Well for some reason that morning the weather didn't cooperate with our plans, at all.  It was an awful looking day.  Rain and just the grayest sky you've ever seen.  What can you do?  Well we found some somewhat covered areas around where we were doing hair and makeup, started shooting and then headed to the lake when the weather started to clear.  We got down to the lake about 4 hours later than expected and just then the sun came out and we had the beautiful sunny day.  We really lucked out.  Everyone really worked hard that day and I couldn't have asked for better people to work with.  Thank you all so much!  There were so many great shots, it was hard to just pick out a few to show you.

Here's some images from a really fun shoot earlier this year.   These were for a conceptual piece that I was asked to work on.  It was a little hush-hush and we had spent a lot of time meeting and talking about this "character" he wanted to create for the shoot.  It was great for me, because I felt like I could really play with the setups and lighting and just have fun with it.  I thought we captured the feel we wanted and got some great shots.

This is a little late, I meant to post this earlier.  But here you go anyways, better late than never, right?  Here's a couple recent publications I have images in.  I had some images in the July issue of Seattle Met of a kitchen remodel.  Since it's already off the newsstands, you can read the article at  Seattle Met Magazine. It was a remodel project by Model Remodel.

Also, the spring issue of the ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) Bulletin had a selection of images from their Associate Plus Members, which I am one, and was asked to submit a photo.  So that felt nice to be showcased among your peers.

I'm sad to report that there will no longer be monthly art walk showings at the studio.  We got the news at the end of July that the 619 building will be shut down permanently on Oct 1st, 2011 and no more art walks as of Aug 1st, 2011.  Which just kinda stung a little more as we had big plans for August art walk, including our annual studio project and a new personal project I've been working on for months.  I hope to show that all somewhere soon.  I'll keep you posted.  I'm also confident that a new studio is on the horizon and look forward to inviting you to our first opening.

Besides all that, I've been shooting like crazy!  Editorial, Fashion, Interiors, you name it.  So much to share.  So for starters, a few weeks ago I covered Burning Beast 2011 for The Seattle Weekly's online slideshows. (click here to view the slideshow).  The slideshow was limited on images so I'm posting more from that day on my facebook page.  Check it out.

Here's some shots from the last two Suzabelle shoots for Fall 2011 and for Winter 2011.  We're getting prepped to shoot Spring 2012 now.  I'm excited, it's always a blast to work with Suzabelle

Just got back from a quick little vacation to Arizona to visit dear friends and just take it easy.  It was great.  As I was on the plane though, I started thinking about the last time I visited the Southwest, Santa Fe to be exact.  Which I then realized I never put up a blog post about.  So back in September I photographed a wedding at the Santa Fe Opera House.  It was beautiful.  The day started off with a trip to the salon with the ladies and then on to the location for the wedding and reception.  A lovely wedding and an awesome couple.

I love taking the ferry.  It's true.  It reminds me of being a kid.  I've never had to commute by ferry, so for me, it's a novelty.  And if you've ever ridden a ferry with me, you know that I always get a hot cocoa or coffee from the machine and go out on the deck and get cold.  It's what I do, it's tradition, doesn't matter what it tastes like or how cold or rainy.  (Though I must admit it's just not quite the same without the little paper cups with handles and poker cards on them).  So when my friend said she was running out to whidbey, I was totally down.  Ferry ride and mini road trip, awesome!  She grew up on the island so the ferry is not, well, as exciting to her.  As we drive onto the ferry, she turns off the car and looks over at me with disdain, "you're going to make me go upstairs, aren't you?".  Of course, I said "Yes!!"

I just finished up shooting some new projects for Modelremodel.  This is the first of three kitchens recently shot.  I love seeing what people do with their spaces.  It's pretty cool what they come up with.  I think the shoot went well, but I was a little worried day of.  It had started snowing and they were predicting quite a bit throughout the day.  But, it all worked out and I finished up before any roads I needed closed.  I also couldn't have asked for a better pose from the dog of the house.
