Last night I headed out to the Fremont Abbey for their 5th Birthday Bash.  I was there to cover the event for the Seattle Weekly for their online slideshows. (to see the full slideshow, click here)  I wasn't very familiar with the Abbey and I'm so glad I went.  It was quite the party.  They had crafts, food and drink, face-painting, music, a silent auction and City Arts trivia.  What a cool place and a great group of people.  The Abbey is a non-profit, non-religious community arts center offering both instruction and performance opportunities for all-ages and incomes.  They are located in Fremont in this beautifully restored historic building.  They just got named one of Seattle Mag's "Best of" for 2010.  I encourage you to check out their website for upcoming events and classes.  It's a really special place. Here's just a few favorite pics from the night.
